Apprenticeship standards are the new type of apprenticeship developed by employers. Each standard covers a specific job role and sets out the core skills, knowledge and behaviours an apprentice will need to be fully competent in their job role and meet the needs of employers in the sector. Standards are developed by employer-led groups known as 'trailblazers'.

The standards show what an apprentice will be doing and the skills required of them, by job role.

More standards will be published as they are developed and approved.

You can find out more about the list of standards and occupations approved and in development by visiting the Department for Education Apprenticeship Standards information page.
